I just wanted to get a quick one in, it's 12:00 AM as I'm writing this and I have to be at work by 9:45Am in Brookline in the morning so I want to get to bed soon.
I moved back into Waltham, to work, hang out, run before classes start up again (Jan 19th.)
Training has been going well, my past 4 weeks have been (miles/week)
60,65,55,70. And this week I'm at 68 but I still have to run tomorrow, so it will be a bit over 70.
I've run a solid workouts with the guys, it will be interesting to see what kind of shape we're all in coming back from break. Our first 2010 meet is the Dartmouth meet which is the Sunday after this one.
I talked to John about what races I will be racing this month and the plan looks something like this;
800 at Dartmouth, mile at the Brandeis home meet a week after (which would mean I will have to defend my title), mile or 1000m at the BU Terrier Meet.
The Brandeis meet is a week earlier than it was last year, so if I run the mile it will be interesting to see what kind of shape I'm in. I ran 4:22 in the meet last year.
It's a long way away, but the focus of the season is pointed towards D3 Regionals, All New Englands, UAAs, and possibly D3 Nationals.
We've got a bunch of talented runners going into this track season. I think we can achieve a lot. The key is to be proactive about staying healthy and keeping sickness away.
The last few meets are meets that require qualifying times. I'm not setting high expectations for the first meets, but I do want to focus on qualifying for those meets. The key is the training, just gotta get the work in. The first races are coming up, but it's still time to get the important work in.
